Straße vs. Landstraße
While both Straße and Landstraße translate to road or street in English, they refer to different types of roadways. Straße is the most general term for any street or road, whereas Landstraße specifically designates a rural or country road outside of urban areas.
Straße
The word Straße is the generic and most common term for any road, street, or avenue. It is primarily used to describe paved routes within cities, towns, or residential areas, but it can also refer to the general concept of a road.

(We live on a very quiet street.)

(The road is closed due to construction work.)
(He parks his car on the street every evening.)

(This new road leads directly to the main train station.)
(The children should be careful when crossing the street.)
(After the rain, the roads were extremely slippery.)
Landstraße
The term Landstraße specifically refers to a country road or rural highway. A Landstraße connects villages and towns, is located outside of city limits, and is typically surrounded by nature, fields, or forests.
(We prefer driving along the country road to enjoy the scenery.)
(A speed limit of one hundred kilometers per hour often applies on the rural road.)

(A slow tractor is blocking the narrow country road.)

(In autumn, there is often thick fog over the country road.)

(He avoids the highway and takes the rural road instead.)
Summary
In short, use Straße when talking about any general street or road, especially within urban environments. Choose Landstraße when you want to specifically describe a rural road that runs through the countryside connecting different towns or villages.
