When expressing negative feelings in Portuguese, choosing between irritado, chateado, and aborrecido depends on the intensity of your emotion and the underlying cause. While they all relate to being annoyed, they range from active anger to emotional disappointment and weariness.
Irritado
A2This is the most intense word of the three and suggests an active state of agitation, anger, or lack of patience. If you use irritado, you are likely physically or emotionally on edge due to a provocation, noise, or stress.
